About Five Finger Death Punch
Twenty years in. Thirty top ten singles. And apparently, they’re just getting started.
Five Finger Death Punch have dropped Eye Of The Storm, the first single off their forthcoming 10th studio album, currently being recorded in Los Angeles. If you caught any of the snippets the band posted to social media last week — after the 2027 European tour dates announcement sent the internet briefly feral — you already know the temperature of what’s coming. The clips landed hard enough to generate the kind of organic buzz that most bands spend entire marketing budgets trying to manufacture.
So Where Are They At?
The short version: heavier than they’ve been in years, with something to prove, and apparently enough material to have seriously entertained a double album before landing on 14 or 15 tracks. That’s a band who spent three years inside a record rather than grinding one out on a schedule.
Founder and guitarist Zoltan Bathory laid it out plainly:
“The new music has been turning out heavier than anything we’ve done in years, with a cinematic undertone running beneath it. We had three years to write this record and really live with it. We started with nearly 30 songs and carved it down to 14 or 15, we even considered a double album at one point.”
The Part Worth Paying Attention To
Bathory is someone who wrote the music for the entire first album and most of the second. When he says he’s hearing that early energy again — the grit, the bite, the aggression — it’s not nostalgia talking. Those sounds are where he came from. The fact that he describes it as coming home at full speed rather than looking backwards is the meaningful distinction here.
The other half of that equation is vocalist Ivan Moody, whose voice Bathory describes as sounding “absolutely huge” on this record. Paired with what are apparently some of his strongest lyrics and melodies to date. If the early snippets are any indication, that combination is landing.
“This is our 10th studio album and our 20th anniversary as a band. We knew we had to hit it hard.”

What’s Next
The 10th studio album is expected out later this year. The third leg of their 2026–2028 World Tour — covering Europe in 2027 — is already announced.
In the meantime, their Best Of — Volume 1 and Best Of — Volume 2 compilations, featuring newly re-recorded versions of the band’s biggest hits, are available here.
