No One Gets Out Alive follows Ambar, an undocumented Mexican immigrant in Cleveland who, after her mother’s death, is left with no papers, no protection, and no options. Scammed out of her savings by a co-worker promising a Texas ID, she’s forced into a decrepit women-only boarding house run by the seedy Red and his visibly disturbed brother Becker.
Almost immediately she’s hearing screams at night and dreaming of an ancient stone box, while Becker bashes his head against doors and Red insists there’s nothing wrong. The haunted-house premise peels back to reveal the brothers have been feeding vulnerable, undocumented women to an ancient entity in that box in exchange for keeping the terminally ill Becker alive.
