About The Family Graves
Look, if you pitched me a comic that’s basically The Munsters crashing headfirst into The Fantastic Four — with a witchy girlboss villain, a quantum communications satellite, and a teenage siren navigating high school drama alongside genuine cosmic stakes – I would say: yes, immediately, where do I sign?
Good news. You can sign right now on Kickstarter.
The Family Graves: Spell of the Space Witches #1 is live, funding, and if you slept on the first run of this series, this is your perfect entry point – or your chance to finally complete the set.

Spell of the Space Witches
For the uninitiated: The Family Graves is a sci-fi monster adventure comic book from writer/editor Timothy Bach that wears its influences proudly while doing something that feels genuinely fresh. It’s got the warmth and absurdist charm of a monster family sitcom, but layered over the top is real adventure, real stakes, and art that earns every bit of its Saturday morning fever-dream energy.
This new mini-series kicks off with the family launching into space to test Phil’s latest invention – a bleeding-edge quantum communications satellite. Because of course that’s what they’re doing.
But things go sideways fast when Nori’s new friends turn out to be something a lot more sinister than your average mean girls. We’re talking full-on space witches and the price for getting cozy with this new brand of witchcraft is just your family. No big deal, right?
At the center of it all is Tessadora – a scheming antagonist with plans to weaponise Phil’s satellite and make magical spells available on demand. It’s a terrifying concept. Tessadora is going after The Family Graves from every angle, and young Nori finds herself caught between her growing siren powers, the pull of something darker, and the weight of her mother’s secret past. It’s got genuine heart underneath all the rockets and monster hijinks, and that’s what makes this series stick with you.
Oh – and there’s a Phil Hester variant cover. That alone should have your attention.

You’ve said enough! Where can I get it?
Available exclusively on Kickstarter, 22-page comic book issue will be available in print (two covers to choose from) and as a DRM-free PDF. Previous releases starring The Family Graves are also available through the campaign as add-ons, so you can grab the whole universe while you’re at it.
Seriously worth a look before you back – the art is doing a lot of heavy lifting and delivering every bit of it.
In a sentence? It’s got mad science, rockets, sabotage, magical spells, high school and monsters – all in one comic book issue.
Go back it on Kickstarter.
