About
Comics that are weird, bizarre or tainted with horror. A Soda and Telepaths show.
Some comics you read once and forget. Others crawl under your skin and set up home. List of the Damned is about the second kind.
We dig through longboxes, back catalogues and forgotten imprints to find the comics that unsettle, disturb and refuse to play nice. Expect deep dives, ranked lists and plenty of recommendations for your next sleepless night.
What You’ll Find Here
Deep dives. Long-form breakdowns of a single series, run or creator. What makes it work, what makes it disturbing, and why it deserves a place on your shelf.
Listicles aplenty. Ranked lists and themed round-ups for when you know the vibe you want but not where to find it. Comics like your favourite horror films, the most disturbing one-shots, the best monster books and more.
Every shade of horror. Cosmic horror that makes you feel small. Body horror that makes you squirm. Folk horror, psychological horror, apocalyptic nightmares and occult weirdness that sits somewhere in between.
The strange and the overlooked. Not everything here is scary. Some of it is just deeply, gloriously odd: the experimental, the cult and the books that never found the audience they deserved.
Why Horror Comics?
Because comics can do things to you that film and prose can’t. You control the pace, so the dread lingers exactly as long as you let it. And the scariest moment is often the one hiding in the gutter between panels.
Horror comics have always been dangerous. In the 1950s, EC’s gruesome anthologies helped spark a moral panic and US Senate hearings, and the Comics Code that followed tried to scrub horror off the newsstands.
It didn’t work. The genre went underground, came back meaner, and never really left. List of the Damned celebrates that unkillable streak.
Who’s Behind It
List of the Damned is hosted by Anthony Pollock, a lifelong comics reader with a soft spot for anything that makes other readers flinch.
Anthony is the founder of Soda and Telepaths, where he covers comics news, film and music. He also hosts My Kind of Weird, our show about heavy metal and the occult through a horror lens.
No publisher money. No hype for hype’s sake. Just honest recommendations from someone who has read far too many horror comics, and wants you to read them too.
Part of the Soda and Telepaths Family
Soda and Telepaths is your independent guide to dark pop culture worth giving a F about. List of the Damned is our comics show, and the video and newsletter side of our Comics coverage.
If cursed albums and occult mysteries are more your thing, head to My Kind of Weird for heavy metal through a horror lens.

Have a recommendation? Leave a comment on any video, or send it our way. The more obscure, the better. If it’s out of print, half-forgotten and slightly cursed, we definitely want to hear about it.
